Here at Scots Bearings Ltd we work in partnership with several leading manufacturers of Packing Materials.
The packed gland is an exceptionally reliable fluid sealing device that is simple to install and maintain. Not only is it highly versatile, but also remarkably cost effective in both plant downtime and materials - especially when compared to complex alternatives.
Via our distributor agreements we bring you one of the widest ranges of packing’s to match the temperatures, pressures and speeds of your most modern fluid handling systems, and economical packing’s for your older plant.
Many of our packing’s will dramatically reduce your stockholding levels - as one carefully selected length-form product can often be used for many different valves, pumps and other fluid handling plant at your site.
Centrifugal Pumps/Rotary Plant
Our range of compression packing’s for centrifugal pumps and rotary equipment covers shaft speeds up to 25m/s - as well as providing unrivalled chemical and abrasion resistance.
We have compression packing grades for reciprocating pumps and rams of all types and sizes. Between them, they handle duties to well beyond 25MPa with highly abrasive media in slurry pumps, as well as potable water or aggressive chemicals.
Static Duties – Furnaces and Crucibles
These products are designed for high temperature static duties, with one of them also suitable for very low speed rotating applications.
Static Duties – Tank Lids
Our comprehensive range of tank lid packing’s meets increasingly stringent international regulations that cover the maritime transport of chemical and potentially hazardous cargoes. Extensions to the range cover the requirements of road and rail transport plus static or mobile tank containers.
We supply more than 20 grades of compression packing for valve stem duties. A number of these are highly recommended for VOC fugitive emission control.
Maintenance Kits for Gland Repacking
Kits of ready-stocked tool boxes contain all the special tools and compression packing’s normally needed for on-site gland maintenance of pumps, valves and rotary equipment. They are designed for use in the chemical, food processing, power generation, and pulp and paper industries.
